Project Description
This 150,000sf outdoors retail superstore, built on a 50-acre site in the Traverse Mountain Development near Thanksgiving Point, was completed in approximately seven months. The commercial complex is a structural steel building with pre-cast panels and a vaulted, architectural metal roof. The complex interior of the structure needed careful coordination to build and install signature features, including a 30ft-high mountain replica with running waterfalls and streams; a trout pond and trophy animals in re-creations of their distinct habitats; huge freshwater aquarium stocked with fish native to the area; museum-quality representations of many wild game species, with an expansive diorama devoted to African game animals; deli-style restaurant that features delicious wild-game sandwiches, as well as tamer fare; a world-class Gun Library; a full-service fly-fishing shop; a shooting gallery; and an indoor archery range.
