Project Description
The construction of this project included altering and adding on to an existing 10,000sf Aircraft Hangar for the installation of a Class I Division I rated 5,600sf paint booth as well as the 11,000sf addition of a Lo-Corrosion Control Maintenance Shop. The facility also featured break facilities and locker rooms.

The paint booth consists of two large air make-up units, air exchange and air filtration system, compressed air, two self-sustaining plenum doors, and a complete fire suppression system that includes foam suppression and wet/dry suppression with a fire alarm system connected to the base fire department.

The renovation of the existing hangar included a hazardous material abatement, removal and replacement of the hangar bay roof, and an expansion of the hangar by to accommodate the new paint booth and equipment.

As part of this project Okland Construction provided reinforced concrete foundation, standing seam metal roof, masonry walls, air showers, secure work areas, administrative offices, paint supply room, tool supply room, site improvements, landscaping, pavement, and communication support. Force Protection included reinforced walls and laminated windows.
