Project Description
This project consisted of the design and construction of a new two-story, 64,583sf physical fitness center with a health and wellness center. The facility supports combat readiness and improves the physical fitness of active duty and reserve personnel for Hill Air Force Base. The facility is handicap accessible and includes sport courts, racquetball courts, fitness areas, group exercise areas, a Health and Wellness Center, locker rooms, and associated functions typical for this type of facility. The facility also features an indoor elevated running track and indoor climbing wall.

The facility is masonry with a steel structure and a standing seam metal roof; it is also architecturally compatible with the Hill AFB Architectural Standards. The project included development of design deliverables for review; sustainable design using LEEDs rating system (Green Building Council); anti-terrorism/force protection; design deliverables for demolition and construction; grading; relocation/protection of utilities; utility service connections and runs; fire-protection/life safety systems; EMCS; HVAC; all necessary conduits and cabling (including interior COMM cabling); plumbing; mechanical systems; interior utilities; interior/exterior finishes; exterior security lighting; parking (POV); accesses around the structure; and all necessary features (interior and exterior) to yield safe, complete, and useable facilities for the intended use.
