Project Description

The scope of work for this project included design-build for all construction changes, demolition of offices as indicated on plant layout, installation of machine foundations for manufacturing equipment, and process for composite fiber fabrications. Also included was the removal of building columns and designing and installing structural modifications and members to create an open span to accommodate a large manufacturing machine. The project includes construction of clean assembly rooms and fiber production space.

Process piping and utilities were installed to all the process equipment located in the facility. The power requirements for the new facility required adding an additional 12,000 amps of electrical power for manufacturing equipment to be located in the facility. A backup diesel generator system with automatic transfer switch and uninterruptible power for key equipment was installed to mitigate production loss due to unexpected power interruptions.

The existing office space in the facility underwent a renovation and expansion to approximately 38,000 net built out for the facility. Additional features included in the facility include a nitrogen system to support manufacturing processes, paint booths, and shipping and receiving seven cranes ranging in size from 2-10 tons.
