I have worked with numerous general contractors and carefully considered hiring Okland Construction. Two of our consultants, who had remained silent during the selection process, pulled me aside and told me they thought we had chosen well and that Okland was really a step above the competition. Over the course of project we came to agree. Okland was excellent in every facet of the job and we built our most difficult project to date without any significant issues. This was due to Okland's excellent planning and attention to detail, not to a lack of potential challenges. We are a very hands on owner and managed Okland's work very aggressively (they might call it micro-management). Okland's project manager and site superintendent welcomed our involvement and made extra effort to include us in the project as much as we wanted. This project was our most complicated and largest building to date. Some of our issues included the need to build it without disturbing our current tenants - on a very tight site and to obtain a LEED Gold certification for the building. Okland was excellent in every one of these respects. I would welcome a call from anyone considering hiring Okland. You will not be disappointed. For our next office project, we won't interview general contractors, we will simply hire Okland again.
